Part of the old Kathmandu, it holds the architectural charm that Kathmandu once had before the rise of the glass buildings. Hanuman Dokha located inside the Durbar Square is one of the palaces to the old Malla and Shah kings of Nepal. The Kumari House, located on the south side of the Durbar Square, is the home to the living goddess Kumari. If you’re lucky, the Kumari might appear on the window.
