Chitwan National Park

The Chitwan National Park is a world heritage property in Terai, the subtropical southern part of Nepal. The park is especially renowned for its protection of One Horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tiger and Gharial Crocodile. Meaning ‘Heart of Jungle’, Chitwan is famous as one of the best wildlife viewing national parks in Asia. If you are extremely lucky, you’ll see leopards, wild elephants, and sloth bears.
There are two main entrances to visit the Chitwan National Park: the tourist town of Sauraha in the east and the tranquil Tharu settlement of Meghauli Village in the west.
