The north of India is full of treasure and on this journey we’ll show you some of its very best and most interesting places. After the cosmopolitan grandeur of Delhi, experience the beautiful legacy of the Moghul architecture found in Udaipur, the cream of the Rajasthan. Then marvel at the exotic carvings of Khajuraho and at the fabled magnificence of Agra before being submersed in the holiness of Varanasi, India’s spiritual heart on the bank of the Ganges. And as an added bonus, you’ll even spend a night in a luxury tent deep in the countryside.
Arrive Delhi
Arriving in Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport you are greeted by our staff who will transfer you to your hotel. The balance of the day is free to relax.

Delhi
After breakfast, we set off on a full day, guided tour of the city. In Old Delhi visit Jama Masjid then drive past the Red Fort before taking a short rickshaw ride through the bustling market of Chandni Chowk. You also visit Rajghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. Following lunch we explore the British Raj architecture of Lutyen’s New Delhi, driving past the Rashtrapati Bhawan (President House) and the Parliament buildings with a photo stop at the Indian Gate. The tour finishes with a visit to the ancient minaret Qutub Minar and Humayun’s Tomb.
Delhi – Udaipur
After breakfast you are transferred to the airport for a flight to Udaipur. On arrival at Udaipur, often referred to as “The Venice of the East” and considered the most beautiful and romantic city of the Rajasthan, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Later in the day enjoy a tranquil boat ride on Lake Pichhola, passing by floating palaces and admiring the shoreline’s exquisite architecture.

Udaipur
The day starts with a guided city tour of the City Palace with the option of seeing the Crystal Gallery before visiting the Saheliyon ki Bari Gardens with its lotus ponds and fountains and Jadish Temple. This afternoon we take a short drive outside the city to visit the ancient temples of Eklingji & Nagda.
Jodhpur
Our morning sightseeing tour of Jodhpur will include the massive Mehrangarh Fort that towers over the city as well as Jaswant Thada, Umaid Bhawan Palace and the Ghanta Ghar area. Later in the afternoon enjoy a jeep safari to some Bishnoi villages for an opportunity to visit some of these tribal villagers’ houses and also look for blackbucks and blue that are found in the surrounding countryside.
Jodhpur – Minaj
After we leave Jodhpur this morning, arrive in Nimaj (120km/2 hrs), and check into your luxury tent built on a raised dam overlooking Chhatra Sagar Lake. Later in the day you may choose to go on a jeep safari to the nearby villages or go bird watching with an in-house naturalist. Overnight at Chhatrasagar.
Nimaj – Jaipur
After leisure breakfast, we drive to Jaipur (225 km/4 hrs), popularly known as the Pink City. Upon arrival in Jaipur, check into your hotel and then later experience the hustle and bustle of two of its wonderful markets, the famous Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar. Jaipur
This morning we take a short drive through the nearby Aravali Hills to visit the stunning Amber Fort with the option of entering the fort on an elephant. In the afternoon we visit the beautiful City Palace, the ancient observatory, Jantar Mantar as well as Hawa Mahal known as the Palace of the Winds. While Jaipur, there is the option of taking a Hot Air Balloon ride.
Jaipur – Agra
During today’s drive to Agra (235 km /4-4 ½ hrs) we stop to see Akbar’s abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri. There is also the option of visiting the world famous Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary at Bharatpur (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). On arrival in Agra, the remainder of the day is at leisure.
Agra
Our early start this morning lets you appreciate the Taj Mahal’s unique beauty at sunrise followed by enough time to learn about and enjoy this spectacular building (the Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays). In the afternoon, we visit the fascinating Agra Fort followed by a short tour in the exquisite Itmad-Ud-Daulah, also called the ‘Baby Taj. For a grand finale, watch the sun set over the Taj Mahal from the Mehtab Bagh gardens across the Yamuna River
Agra - Jhansi – Orchha – Khajuraho
This morning take a short train ride from Agra to Jhansi where we meet you and continue by road Khajuraho (180 km/ 4 hrs), visiting Orchha with its spectacular palace, en route. Overnight at your selected hotel.
Khajuraho – Varanasi
Our day starts with a tour of the Eastern and Western group of the Khajuraho temples, including its most notable ones such as the Kandariya Mahadeo and Chaunsath Yogini temples. This afternoon you are transferred to the airport for a short flight to Varanasi, one of India’s holiest cities on the River Ganges and said to be heart of spiritualism and Hinduism. On arrival you are met transferred to your hotel and this evening, enjoy a rickshaw ride before witnessing the ceremonial Aarti on the banks of the Ganges.
Varanasi
Early this morning watch the sunrise as you enjoy a boat ride on the River Ganges. Experience the centuries-old living tradition of the chanting of mantras and hymns along the riverbank, where devotees take their holy baths, and see a cremation at Manikarnika Ghat. In the afternoon we take an excursion to Sarnath, one of the most sacred places for Buddhist where Lord Buddha gave first sermon after attaining enlightenment.
Varanasi – Delhi
The morning is spent visiting some important places of interest such as the Beneras Hindu University, the Vishwanath, Durga and Bharat Mata temples and a local market. Depending on interest, a heritage walk of the Old City can also be organized. Later in the day you are transferred to the airport for a flight to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be transferred to your hotel for a final night’s stay. Overnight at your selected hotel.
Delhi – Onwards Destination
Today we will transfer you to the airport for a flight home or, you may extend your stay, visiting more of India.
